Deb Richardson-Moore

Rev. Deb Richardson-Moore is former pastor of the non-denominational Triune Mercy Center, a church that brings homeless, working poor, middle-class and wealthy parishioners into community. She is a 2021 recipient of an honorary Doctor of Divinity degree from Furman University, and winner of Leadership Greenville’s 2017 Distinguished Alumni Award.

Deb also worked as a writer for The Greenville News and is the author of five books. She graduated from Wake Forest University and Erskine Theological Seminary.

Her first book on poverty is a memoir, The Weight of Mercy, about her early years at Triune. The next 3 books are the Branigan Powers mysteries that have a homeless man at the center. He aids in helping a news reporter solve murders because he is virtually invisible to the community. Rev. Moore teaches about homelessness through these books.

United Housing Connections is building a 36-unit Church Street Place at Poe Mill, which will be permanent supportive housing for the chronically homeless. A community center will be built next door which will be named in honor of Deb Richardson-Moore.
